Family Photography In your Own Home - Geelong
Capturing your family in your own comfort zone!
I love the opportunity to go into your homes and capture your families. It's such a great way to really document that phase in your lives, and really feel like your are capturing your true self. You don't have to have a fancy, expensive home. Everything doesn't need to be perfect, it's not about that. You want to be able to look at these photos in 10/20 years and really being able to feel what life was like at that point in time. And that's why I love going into your homes, because it is so authentic and I know that as the years past these photos just become more and more precious. You may end up selling that home, or renovating and it's so great to have those beautiful physical memories to look at. You don't have to dress up or stress, it's just a lovely relaxed time in your comfort zone!
The kids usually respond so well to having me come into their house. They are often very excited to show me around and really engage because it's a place that they feel comfortable. Everyone usually has their favourite stuffed toys to show me, and to pose with of course!
You can have a plan of things that you like to do as a family, ie maybe you make pancakes together, or perhaps you like to pick flowers from the garden or tend to the veggie patch. You might have living room dance parties or play a lot of card games, play musical instruments together, jump on the trampoline or just hang out! It's totally up to you.
Things to think about when booking your In-Home family photoshoot:
- What time of day is the light the nicest in your house and garden (generally its either early morning or afternoon)
- What season is nicest around your home, do you love having a fire pit in Winter? Or the Autumn leaves in the garden? Or flowers in Spring? Playing outside in Summer?
- What spaces you would like to capture, and then just doing a quick clean or declutter.
- What things do you like to do as a family that you would like to remember!
- Things the kids can participate in that would make them excited about the photoshoot.
